Tomb Raider Inspired Photoshoot

Model: Lauren Clover
Location: King Zog’s Ruins, Muttontown, NY

Lauren has been a long time supporter of the meetup group I run, and when she came to me with her Lara Croft cosplay, we started to brainstorm ideas and locations. We picked King Zog’s ruins in the Muttontown preserve. It was once the home of a beautiful estate, but what remains are remnants of buildings and structures set in an overgrown wooded environment.

365 Project

Part of my personal growth as a photographer is to keep shooting and to get involved with various projects. In 2016 I picked up the Fuji X-T1, and set out to make a new photo every day for one year. The composition, subjects and style of the photos vary from day to day as I was occaisionally experimenting or trying something new. I haven’t been keeping to any one theme or style.

Part of my personal growth as a photographer is to keep shooting and to get involved with various projects. This year, along with the purchase of new Fujifilm camera gear, I took on a 365 project. Starting on March 15, 2016 I set out to make a new photo every day for one year. The composition, subjects and style of the photos vary from day to day as I’m occasionally experimenting or trying something new. I haven’t been keeping to any one theme or style. Follow me and you’ll find headshots, street photography, landscapes, long exposures, and even some snapshots. The biggest challenge is finding something new and/or interesting to shoot every day. I’ve missed a bunch, but I’ve also made several photos that I love.

Update for September 8, 2016: While my love for photography has not dwindled, I have found the ability to go out on a daily basis and take photos has been difficult. I still bring my camera with me just about everywhere, and will continue to take photos. I have stopped posting to 365project.org because of the way they count the photos (I had to upload “dummy” photos to maintain the accurate day count and I think other users were starting to get annoyed). I will continue to post to Instagram.

Follow me on Instagram and join along by challenging yourself with your own 365 project.
