Long Island Portrait Photography Workshop

Since moving away from New York, I have resigned as the organizer of the Long Island Portrait Photography Workshop on I still keep in touch with the group and provide guidance and assistance to the new leadership.

They are a group of photographers who meet monthly to develop and improve our portraiture photography knowledge and skills. Each meeting is an opportunity to work collaboratively on posing, lighting, composition, setup, exposure, as well as post processing techniques.

Shooting in Manual Training

If you’re looking to get past “Auto” mode on your camera? I’ve come up with a 2-hour hands on workshop, originally for the members of the LI Portrait Photography Workshop which goes over the basics of using your DSLR basics for shooting in Manual. The course covers:

  • ISO Sensitivity
  • Shutter Speed
  • Aperture (f/Stops)
  • Metering
  • Histogram
  • Depth of Field

Hopefully, I’ll have a chance to formalize this workshop or create some self-paced training to help you understand what’s happening in your camera when you click that shutter.
